To view the details of each alert, click on the alert in the list, and a detailed window will appear on your screen.
You will be able to see the metric and the condition that triggered the alert. To learn how to set alerts, go to the Add alerts sub-sections in the Managing my care plans section.
- For example, one of the conditions that could trigger this alert might be: "If Temperature2 value is > 38.0, repetition 2 in the last 2.0 hours". This means the alert is triggered if the patient’s temperature exceeds 38.0°C twice within the last two hours.
- The current reading of the metric (e.g., 38.3°C in this case) is prominently displayed for immediate attention.
- When the alert was configured, a criticity level was assigned. This level indicates the severity of the alert.
The time resolution shows how long the alert has been unresolved. For example, it might display "10 months", indicating that the issue has been outstanding for that duration. - The escalation time indicates if the alert will be automatically reassigned to another person after a defined period if the current assignee has not handled it. This feature may not always be activated when configuring the alert, so it may not appear in every instance.
- A note may have been added to the alert when it was configured. This note could include comments or instructions to help manage the alert.
- You can change the status of the alert by clicking on "Triggered" and selecting the current status from the list. The status reflects the current progress of the alert resolution.
- It is also possible to manually change the assignee—the person responsible for handling the alert—by selecting a different individual from the dropdown list.
- Don’t forget to save any changes by clicking “Update Alert”. You can only update the alert if it has been assigned to you.
From this window, you can also directly send a message to the patient related to the alert, allowing for quick and effective communication. Additionally, you can access the patient’s record, which may provide context and help you understand why the alert was triggered by offering a broader view of the patient's condition.
Finally, the alert will also appear in the patient’s record under the Alerts sub-section for reference. To learn more about the patient’s record, go to the Manage a patient record section.
