In this article, learn how to:
1. Access to your metrics
To access to your metrics, click on on the navigation banner on the left of the screen.
2. Add a new metric
To create a new metric, go to the “Metrics” tab and click on “Add new Metric” at the top right of the page.
- Add a name to your metric
- Select a unit.
- Select a terminology.
- Select the type of the metric : “Scale” or “Numeric”.
2.1. Scale metric
If you have chosen "Scale" as the metric type, the first step is to set a starting point for your scale. This defines the minimum value for your measurement.
Next, you need to define the number of steps on your scale (the number of increments between the minimum and maximum values). For example, you might want a scale with 10 steps for precision in patient input.
Click "Next" to proceed to the scoring setup.
Optionally, you can add scoring conditions to your metric by clicking on "Add Condition". This feature allows you to assign specific scores based on the patient’s input using the scale. The scoring system is flexible and can be fully customized depending on how you interpret the data.
For instance, as shown in the example below:
- If the patient’s fluid intake is less than 1 liter per day, a score of 2 is assigned, indicating low hydration.
- If the patient’s fluid intake is between 1 and 3 liters per day, a score of 0 is assigned, indicating an optimal hydration level.
- If the intake is between 3 and 4 liters per day, a score of 2 is assigned, indicating slightly elevated fluid intake.
- If the intake is 4 liters or more, a score of 4 is assigned, indicating excessive fluid intake.
You can continue adding as many conditions as you need to reflect the complexity of your metric and to cover all potential patient responses.
If necessary, you can delete a condition by clicking on
Once you’ve set the conditions and scoring, click "Finish" to save your new metric.
2.2. Numeric metric
If you selected "Numeric" as the metric type, you have the option to set specific limits by clicking on "Set a limit" and entering the desired values. This step is optional and can be adjusted according to your needs.
If no limits are required, you can simply move on to the next step by clicking on “Next”.
Optionally, you can add scoring conditions to your metric by clicking on "Add condition". This allows you to assign specific scores based on the patient’s responses. The scoring system is flexible and can be fully customized based on your interpretation of the data.
For instance, as shown in the example below:
- If the patient’s temperature is below 36°C, a score of 2 is assigned, indicating a possible issue (e.g., hypothermia).
- If the temperature is between 36°C and 37.5°C, a score of 0 is assigned, which indicates a normal range.
- If the temperature is between 37.5°C and 38°C, a score of 1 is assigned, indicating mild fever.
- If the temperature is between 38°C and 39°C, a score of 2 is assigned, indicating moderate fever.
- If the temperature is above 39°C, a score of 4 is assigned, indicating a critical level of fever.
You can continue adding as many conditions as you need to reflect the complexity of your metric and to cover all potential patient responses.
If necessary, you can delete a condition by clicking on
Once you’ve set the conditions and scoring, click "Finish" to save your new metric.
⚠️Remember, the scoring system is entirely flexible and up to your interpretation, allowing you to adapt it to the specific needs of your patient monitoring and assessment goals.
3. Search for a metric
If you are looking for a particular metric, enter its name in the search bar.
4. Edit a metric
Once a metric has been created, it is not possible to edit it.
If you want to update the scoring system of the metric for example, you have to create a new metric.
5. Delete a metric
To delete an existing metric from the list, click on next to the name of the metric and then on “Delete”.
